We are sisters. We are friends. We are family. We love children, and we love helping them reach their full potential. We started this blog because we have seen our patients, clients, students, and parents struggle with finding affordable and relevant toys, tools, and resources for their children with special needs. Our hope is that you will find this website, Sensory Toys for Kids, to be a resource and a blessing to better understanding the needs of children with sensory processing issues.
About the Sisters (from youngest to oldest)
K is a early childhood intervention specialist. She has a bachelor’s degree in speech language pathology and a master’s degree in special education. She is married to her best friend and has 2 rambunctious children: a 9-year old daughter and a 5-year old son. They live in the Eastern Hemisphere and love spending each day learning about the culture around them.
C is a registered nurse with a background in pediatric oncology. When she became a nurse, she swore she would never work with sick kids or cancer patients. Little did she know that her career path would expose her to the wonderful and challenging world of pediatric cancer research! She now works for a non-profit organization that helps oversee clinical research for adults with cancer. C has been married for a little over a year to her awesome husband (Go Team Moore, woo!). They live in the greatest state that ever existed and constantly try to convince her parents to move here.
R is the musical prodigy (but don’t tell her I said that :)). She’s the family musician. She teaches music at a local elementary school. R started playing piano as a child and earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music education. Music and rhythm is an integral part of everyone’s life and allows us to express ourselves in a manner that words cannot. R lives in the southeastern US with her husband, where they like to host and entertain family and friends in their lovely house (our family’s “home house”).
